History

After the Lord had confirmed that He was indeed asking Greg & Diana to plant a church, the next logical step was to determine where. They were together driving in their car when the Lord dropped in and filled their little buggy so strongly with His presence that they had to pull over.  Overwhelmed with emotion, both of them in tears, Jesus gave them very clear direction on where they were to go ... Sunnyslope. As they listened to His vision for the church, Diana remembers this one phrase so vividly, "These people are mine from the top of the hills to the bottom of the Valley. I love them."

In October of 2007, a small group of 10 adults began meeting monthly in a cozy Glendale, AZ home -- Greg & Diana West leading the way.  They quickly grew and the first official service for Victory Vineyard Church (VVC) was held in September of 2008 in a small facility in Sunnyslope.  Once again, the church outgrew the space and they moved to their first building in 2014.

In 2016, Greg lost his battle with cancer and the fate of VVC was unknown. With the help of the Southwest Region of Vineyard Churches and countless others, Victory Vineyard celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2018.  In the same year, Diana made the decision to pick up the torch and take Greg's place, keeping the heart of their mission on track and their roots deep within the Sunnyslope community.

Recent History

With Diana firmly in the drivers seat, the Lord gave her a re-newed vision for the church, one that she believed would require both, a re-branding and a re-birthing.  Diana kept the faith and pressed in to developing the vision, which happened in 2022, and Sunnyslope Vineyard has been committed to expanding the Kingdom of Heaven ever since!
